RESCUE – Realistic SCenarios Under Evaluation (BaPG)

Robust and reliable communication systems are essential in tactical scenarios. In catastrophe situations, public safety units need reliable communication systems. Due to the fact that any kind of infrastructure may have been destroyed by the catastrophe, there is a demand for communication systems independent from infrastructure in this kind of scenario. Especially for multi-hop networks (e.g. Mobile Ad hoc NETworks (MANETs) and Mesh Networks) this scenario follows as a quasi canonical scenario. Multi-hop networks satisfy the requirement of being independent of any kind of infrastructure by their definition.

In this project group, we set up and administrate multi-hop ad-hoc and mesh networks and develop applications relevant for public safety scenarios.
