Important Announcements:

The registration is now open. Please register with TVS undefinedhttps://puma.cs.uni-bonn.de/ until 22.04.2014 12:00. You have to enter two choices for the tutorial date as required by the system, although we actually only offer one tutorial!

The first lecture of Mobile Communication was on Tuesday April 08, 2014 at 14.30h in LBH room II.27/27a. (undefinedImportant information on tutorials exercises here)

On April 03, 1889 (i.e. 125 years ago from our year 2014), prominent Heinrich Hertz took a position of Professor of Physics and Director of the Physics Institute at the University of Bonn. More on his biography undefinedcan be found here. Heinrich Hertz laid important foundations for wireless radio communication, about which you will learn in our lecture (among many other things).

Registration for the tutorial/exercise group (group Tuesday 16.00-17.30h) will be done online via the TVS-system (undefinedhttps://puma.cs.uni-bonn.de/). Information on the registration process will be given in the first lecture (an e-mail on the MoCo mailing list will follow - the registration process will start in the second lecture week).

The first assignment sheet will appear on Tuesday April 15, the first exercise will take place on Tuesday April 22..

The first practical assignment sheet will be published on Tuesday April 8. Questions on this will be taken after the lecture and/or the exercise/tutorial meetings.

Prerequisites: (recommended)

  • for students of Master Computer Science: High Performance Networking (MA-INF 3101)

  • for Diploma students: High Performance Networking or legacy: Data Communication and Internet Technology or Rechnernetze I

  • for B-IT MI students: High Performance Networking / Data Communication and Internet Technology (or similar - requiring specific negotiation with the lecturer)

Mailing List - "Mobile Communication"

The mailing list "vl-moco" is used for news and organizational information concerning the lecture "Mobile Communication". An additional purpose is to discuss problems, e.g. with viewing or printing slides or assignment sheets. More information on subscribing the mailing list can be found undefinedhere. The mails on the list are being archived.

Slides and Presentations

Access to the files is unrestricted from within the computer science department. Access from outside requires a username and a password, which has been announced in the first lecture.
